What we do

ALLCARE LLC provides home and community based services to older adults and adults with disabilities across Minneapolis and the Twin Cities metro. Our work is the practical, unglamorous kind: the laundry that has piled up, the overnight hours a family cannot cover, the ride to a clinic appointment, the skill someone is trying to learn so they need less help next year.

We have been doing this since 2020 from an office at 2304 Park Ave in the Phillips neighborhood, which is a deliberate choice. Being in the city rather than a suburban office park means shorter drives between visits and staff who know the neighborhoods they work in.

How we approach a plan of care

A plan built from a template is not a plan. We start with what the person's day actually looks like, what they can do on their own, what they want to be able to do, and where support is genuinely needed. Then we write it down, coordinate with the case manager if there is one, and revisit it after it meets real life.

We also try to be clear about the boundary between what we cover and what a family continues to cover. Most of the failures we have seen in home care come from assumptions on both sides about who was handling something.

What we will tell you honestly

If we cannot staff a schedule, we will say so rather than accepting a referral and delivering unreliable care. If a house has become genuinely unsafe, we will say that too, even when it is not what a family wants to hear. If a service someone is asking for is not the right fit, we will point toward what is, including toward another provider.

That is not a marketing position. It is the only way this work holds up over years, because the alternative is a family discovering the gap during a crisis.

Consistency of staff

We work hard to assign the same people to the same households. For someone with dementia, a new face every week is not neutral, it is disorienting. For someone building a relationship with a companion, rotation destroys the point of the service. Perfect consistency is not always possible, but it is something we actively manage rather than leave to the scheduling software.
